Sport
Roseville College offers an extensive sports program that encourages students of all abilities to participate in and enjoy sport.Sport at Roseville
We are proud of the high levels of participation in our sports programs, be that for recreation or as elite sportswomen. Our culture of participation encourages students to take part in physical activity and supports their physical fitness as they develop their sporting skills.
Our love of sport is reflected in our on-campus sports facilities: a heated swimming pool, multi-sport outdoor courts and our indoor Multipurpose Hall with basketball court, gymnastics equipment, and a strength and conditioning space. Only a few minutes walk from campus is Roseville Park Oval which is used by the College for sports training and practice.
Roseville College is building a new state-of-the-art Sport and Wellbeing Centre, due to be completed in 2023, to align the School’s facilities with our focus on the wellbeing of our students.
Saturday sport
Junior School
Junior students from Years 3 to 6 compete in the IPSHA (Independent Primary School Heads of Australia) sporting competition, which provides inter-school sporting opportunities. Girls compete in team and individual sports at school level and can be selected for higher levels of representation.
Senior School
Our Senior students compete in IGSA Sport (Independent Girls’ Schools Association Sport) on Saturdays, which provides inter-school sporting opportunities as well as a pathway to representative competition at the state and national level.
Rowing
Roseville’s rowing program is open to Senior and Junior (Year 6) students with training held at the North Shore Rowing Club at Longueville. Our rowers compete regularly throughout the season in regattas held at Iron Cove and at the Sydney International Rowing Centre.
Snowsports
The Roseville snowsports team competes in the Northern NSW Interschools Snowsports Championships held in either Perisher or Thredbo in the July holidays. Girls compete in a range of skiing, cross country and snowboarding events, and those who excel have the opportunity to progress through to the state and national levels.
Gymnastics
Our gymnastics program offers both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics classes for all abilities. Students are able to participate in our recreational or competitive programs. For girls choosing competitive gymnastics, they will progress through the Australian Levels Program and have the opportunity to compete in regional, state and inter-school events. For girls in the recreational program, classes are structured for skills progression and to develop fitness and flexibility in a fun and social environment.
Tennis
Students have the opportunity to play tennis as a Saturday competitive sport, including at the district level. Our tennis players attend on-campus training sessions before and after school on our school courts at the Roseville lawn or at Roseville park. A Roseville team also represents the College in the prestigious Tildesley Shield Tournament.
